Who Cares?

It’s not enough to wring our hands. It’s not even enough to feel love and enjoy the beauty in art or nature. It’s not enough to be devoted. We must act. We must do what we can in our world to make it better.

Love is a verb. It is action. Love is doing, not merely feeling. If you love nature, work to protect it as you experience it. If you love art, support the arts and make your own art!

It’s true, our doing comes from our being. We cannot define ourselves by what we do. But… BUT, at some point, action defines our convictions. If we really are who and what we believe, it will and it must manifest itself in action.

“The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.”

~Elie Wiesel
